Dull Gold Prototype Vader Case w. ESB Sleeve
This is another example of the prototyping
process used to create the C3-PO figurre case. Along with the gold chrome versions, Kenner also tried out a gold, metallic type of plastic instead. Along with the chrome
examples, many of the dull gold cases were
used as shipping tests to see the actual wear and tear prior to production.
A handful of these cases have been found with production sleeves on them, and in two cases were also shrink wrapped.

chrome version of this case which was tried out as well, and can be seen here.
